Job Description Summary
Job Title: Executive Director, Business Analytics Programs
Department: School of Business
Reports to: Associate Dean of Business Analytics
Summary: Responsible for operational leadership and management of the Master of Science in Business Analytics programs. Serves as a thought partner with the program Associate Dean to develop and execute program strategy.
Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Directs the day to day operation of the program, including direct management of all program staff and management of the program budget.
- Works in collaboration with Associate Dean and Integrated Student Services staff on the design and delivery of program co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Collaborates with the integrative student services team on all aspects of student experience. Engages directly with students as needed.
- Serves as ‘face’ of the program in conjunction with program Associate Dean. Reports directly to program Associate Dean, who is leader on all curricular matters.
- Collaborates with the Associate Dean to deliver bi-annual program advisory board meetings with Corporate Partners.
- Collaborates with the enrollment management team directly as needed to meet goals.
- Collaborates with the market readiness and employment team on all aspects of driving employment outcomes. Engages directly as needed to meet goals.
- Works in collaboration with Centers of Excellence and marketing to develop and implement effective strategies and practices aligned with the school’s strategic framework.
- Develops and maintains a strong positive culture of partnership and transparency among all faculty and staff members working with the program. Implements practices to aid in engagement, professional and career development, and cross training (as needed) in areas of responsibility.
- Collaborates with program Associate Dean to establish annual operating budget; manages budget.
- Collaborates with, contributes to and leads initiatives for the Center for Analytics Impact as needed.
- Performs other related duties/projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years’ leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in higher education.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Excellent leadership and management skills.Ability to influence and communicate with faculty, staff, outside departments and external constituents across all programs and the larger Wake Forest University community.
- Knowledge and understanding of academic cultures, rules, and regulations.
- Demonstrates ability to be a self-starter, one who takes initiative and who can work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally, courteously and effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community, including students, faculty, staff, administrators and corporate partners.
- Ability to deal calmly and effectively with others, under sometimes stressful conditions.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills; strong command of grammar and English usage in professional business communications, which includes accuracy in proofreading, composing correspondence, editing, and typing.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, to handle conflicting pieces of information, and to prioritize as necessary.
- Proficiency in technical and computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, calendaring software, the Internet and other relevant software or desire and ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and records in accordance with state and federal laws and professional ethics; ability to manage and distribute information appropriately.
- Ability and willingness to travel and work a varied schedule with flexible hours.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- MBA or Master’s in business-related discipline.
Accountabilities:
