Dean Abbott is Co-Founder and Chief Data Scientist of SmarterHQ, and President of Abbott Analytics, Inc. in San Diego, California. Mr. Abbott is an internationally recognized data mining and predictive analytics expert with over two decades of experience applying advanced data mining algorithms, data preparation techniques, and data visualization methods to real-world problems, including fraud detection, risk modeling, text mining, personality assessment, response modeling, survey analysis, planned giving, and predictive toxicology.

Mr. Abbott is the author of Applied Predictive Analytics (Wiley, 2014) and co-author of IBM SPSS Modeler Cookbook (Packt Publishing, 2013). He is a highly-regarded and popular speaker at Predictive Analytics and Data Mining conferences and meetups, and is on the Advisory Boards for the UC/Irvine Predictive Analytics Certificate as well as the UCSD Data Mining Certificate programs.

He has a B.S. in Mathematics of Computation from Rensselaer (1985) and a Master of Applied Mathematics from the University of Virginia (1987).

Bartles was recently announced as the Executive Director of the newly awarded "Digital Manufacturing & Design Innovation Institute" in Chicago which was one by a large collaborative team of 23 Universities/Colleges, 41 companies, state and local government support and strong support from the city of Chicago and led by UI LABS.

Prior to this new position, Dr. Bartles spent over 35 years in the defense and aerospace industry and recently announced his retirement from General Dynamics Corporation in order to assume his new position with UI LABS.

Meggitt Sensing Systems

Scott Billington is currently the Strategy Director for Meggitt Sensing Systems. He started his career at the Georgia Institute of Technology on the research staff. While there, he developed a new radar/microwave sensor technology to enable increased fuel efficiency in gas turbines. He then founded the company Radatec in 2001 to commercialize this technology from Georgia Tech. In 2006, Radatec was acquired by Meggitt and relocated to Fribourg, Switzerland.

While in Switzerland, he became the Director of Product Management for the Energy division of Meggitt Sensing Systems. These sensor systems are focused around sensing and analyzing data related to equipment health and performance.

He moved back to Atlanta in 2012 and is now Strategy Director for the Sensing Systems Strategic Business Unit of Meggitt, PLC. In his current role, he has also been working to optimize and expand the company's CRM system.

He has an MBA and M.S. Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech and B.S. Mechanical Engineering from Lafayette College.

Mr. Brabec has over 20 years of experience working in manufacturing, supply chain, management consulting and the U.S. Navy. He has led projects in automotive, consumer products, energy, construction and manufacturing.

At Caterpillar Mr. Brabec has served in roles including Strategy Champion for the Chief Financial Officer, 6 Sigma Champion, Division Manager for the worldwide Caterpillar parts distribution systems and global supply chain consulting for Cat Logistics Inc.

Prior to joining Caterpillar, Mr. Brabec was part of Deloitte Consulting's Strategy and Operations practice where he served clients in several industries. He is accomplished at planning and leading organizational transformation efforts and has relevant experience in program management, including merger integration, divestiture and operational improvement initiatives. Mr. Brabec served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy's Civil Engineer Corps.

Mr. Brabec graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with distinction from the University of Illinois. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer. He is active in the promotion of STEM initiatives and the advancement of science and technology inititatives in education.

He was the founder of SimaFore, a predictive analytics consulting company, which was recently acquired by Soliton Inc., a provider of testing solutions for the semiconductor industry.

He is the co-author of book on Predictive Analytics and Data Mining and the co-chair of
the annual Predictive Analytics World - Manufacturing, conference in Chicago. He has a Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon and an MBA from Ross School of Business - Michigan. He is currently working with IBM's Watson Cognitive Center of Competence.

He began his career with TRW in the DoD-focused technology industry and has worked in the software industry as well as the management consulting industry with KPMG and Deloitte focusing on process flow and ERP system evaluation and implementation.

Most recently, Mr. Flood was CEO of Logicalis, Inc. He was one of the first executives to join the Logicalis team where he began as CFO and over the next 11 years led the company through multiple acquisitions and growth initiatives that positioned it as one of the largest and most respected enterprise solution providers in North America. Dr. Thomas Hill is Executive Director for Analytics at Dell Software Group. He joined Dell through the acquisition of StatSoft Inc. in April 2014, where he had been Senior Vice President for Analytic Solutions for over 20 years and was responsible for building out Statistica into a leading analytics platform. Dr. Hill received his Vordiplom in psychology from Kiel University in Germany and earned an M.S. in industrial psychology and a Ph.D. in psychology and quantitative methods from the University of Kansas. He was on the faculty of the University of Tulsa from 1984 to 2009, where he conducted research in cognitive science and taught data analysis and data mining courses. He has received numerous academic grants and awards from the US National Science Foundation, the National Institute of Health, the Center for Innovation Management, and other institutions. Over the past 20 years, his team has completed diverse consulting projects with companies from practically all industries and has worked with leading financial services, insurance, retailing, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and other companies in the United States and internationally on identifying and refining effective predictive modeling solutions for a broad scope of applications. Thomas H. Klier is a senior economist in the economic research department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Klier's research focuses on the effects of changes in manufacturing technology, the spatial distribution of economic activity and regional economic development. Since joining the Chicago Fed in 1992, Klier has written widely on the evolving geography of the auto industry. His current research includes the changing structure of the auto industry and the responsiveness of the demand for new vehicles to the price of gasoline.

Jon Riley is the Vice President of Digital Manufacturing at the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS). At the NCMS, he is responsible for identifying partnerships and alliance opportunities to help U.S. manufacturers remain competitive in the global market. To accomplish this, a key element of his strategy is to make advanced development tools such as high performance computing tools, used for evaluating and simulating product designs during the development stage, available to manufacturers of all sizes.

Jon has extensive experience in the areas of R&D, High Performance Computing, business development, design methodologies and strategies along with a clear vision and strong understanding of the benefits that high performance computing will bring to manufacturing in the coming years.
